Scenario
========

The motto for instrument approach design might be safety through
structure. Youre now facing an approach where the most structured option
is the least likely to succeed. Is that still the best choice, or is one
of three less restrictive options the best for reaching the runway without
hitting the rocks?

Come listen to local STL Gateway TRACON Controller Pete Seddon as he
discusses important items for the upcoming flying season. Tpics will
include thunderstorms, icing, emergencies, and unusual situations. There
will also be time to dicuss the usual topics covered previously, depending
on time, questions, and interest from the audience.

There is a lot going on at your local TRACON, including a facility
consolidation with PIA and SPI. Be sure to come out to learn about all the
changes that may affect you as a local St. Louis pilot and keep everyone
flying safe!

========

You're cleared to land following a stop-and-go training airplane. That
airplane does its stop when you turn final, but appears unhurried about
conducting the go. Now youre on short final, and it seems you're the only
one concerned that there could soon be two airplanes on the same runway.

Scenario

Instrument training under sunny skies with a hood just isnt the same as
real IMC. You finally have a day thats perfect for practice, but first you
and your student must get into the system from a small, uncontrolled
field. The ODP makes that connectionuntil your clearance throws the need
for it in doubt.
